Default Upgrade my Throttle Body?

Hey guys, maybe this is a dumb question, but I'm curious to know if I should go ahead or wait on an upgraded throttle body. My 5.0 has a CAI, full exhaust, MSD distributor, and a Bama Tuner. Besides that she is stock.

I was looking at a 70mm throttle body. Would this be ok to put on with a stock intake manifold and MAF? I plan on upgrading both of them in about a year (once I graduate and have to money to spare), but for now I'm just doing little stuff at a time. Would this be useless? How big is the intake manifold opening anyways? Thanks in advance for any advice!

70mm is a good size and is good for a couple of ponies.

The mass air flow sensor is more restrictive than the throttle body; I'd start there. For throttle bodies, 65mm is actually the best size until you're above 300 rwhp.

Ok. I think I am going to go with the 70mm one and call it a day. It will not be long until I do the intake manifold and heads, so I will need it. I guess it's better to go with the 70mm then buy the same part twice. Thanks for your input guys!

get a new MAF...and get an explorer intake/tb from the junkyard they are both upgrades..you can even use the explorer injectors they are the updated 4 hole that gives better fuel atomization..

match the tb to the intake opening size.

Yes, make sure you match the intake opening size... I have a 75mm TB on a stock intake and you can hear it sucking air... it sounds kinda cool to me, but def not efficient!

I'll take care of the intake manifold for now, but the MAF I'm sort of stuck on. I've heard good and bad things about the C&L MAF's. I wanted to do that route because I will be upgrading my fuel injectors soon, but somebody told me they are bad. I would love to just order the $220 BBK MAF, but then in about a year I would have to buy another one because they are pre-calibrated to 19lbl injectors.... any good way to go about that?

Yeah that's what I was told buy the guy from Latemodelrestoration.com, but have you had any problems or anything like that? What I've heard from other people is that the BBK's are better because they are more precisely calibrated. The C&L's will work, but they will not be as accurate and when you take your foot off the gas pedal they will not get to the idle as fast as a BBK or other precision calibrated MAF... what do you say to that?
