higher temp does require more battery current for starting. First I would have load test on battery to make sure battery is strong enough. If battery is okay, make sure ground from frame to back of engine is in good shape.

try checking for spark after its hot and won't start... if you've got no spark, try changing the TFI coil. that's a common fix on all fords.

long tubes can cause heat soak on the starter. try some heat wrap around the header.

long tubes can cause heat soak on the starter. try some heat wrap around the header.
This is most likely the problem except that I've heard that header tape holds moisture and will entually rust out the header on a daily driver. Some have fabricated a mini heat shield or you could get one of those mini starters which would create more space between header and starter.

more than likely the starter is just too hot after the car has been running after awhile. i had the same problem only because i tried using longtubes on an auto. the headers fit well but the only problem was the starter was so close to header which caused my starter to burn out. you could go with one of those ministarters or try that heat shield like the others have mentioned. i just went bact to shorties after this started.
