Hello all,

I recently started my first clutch replacement, Centerforce dual friction clutch, F1 aluminum flywheel, new bearings, etc. Everything seemed to go pretty well until I went to hook the stock clutch cable back up. The cable is about 3/4" too short to get on the clutch fork. How do I get enough slack in the cable to reach? I've tried the old "pull the clutch pedal back" adjustment, but didn't hear a click or anything and didn't get any slack in the cable.

Do i need to compress the diaphragm spring / disengage the clutch at all to get the cable back in the clutch fork? BTW-The transmission is still off the car.

Sorry for the newbness. I've tried looking at the cable quadrant/adjuster to figure out the workings, but had no luck. Not much fun being upside down with your head under the steering column.

I just recently replaced my clutch and to get the cable back on the fork i had to have a friend pull the pedal back (toward the seat) while i slipped the cable on. Didn't work any other way.

The quadrant is really simple once you see what's under there but if you already pulled up on the pedal and it didn't click, there's no slack to give. Just have a friend pull on the pedal while you do it and it should be 10x easier.
