I am putting 4.10 gears in My 93 5.0 with AOD and from what I read I can't get a speedo gear to correct the speed. Is this coorect or am I missing something. If I install the 23 tooth how far aprox. will the speedo be off.

i have had no issues getting correct speedo gear. for my car is a white gear. and LMM has them

my speedo gear is black but it still is a 23 tooth, i cant remember where i got mine. Summit,or ford racing mine indicates about 5 mph faster that im going at around 60 but im sure its my tires they are slightly shorter that factory size.

YOU CANNOT correct an aod w/ 4.10's by driven gear change alone. it would take a 26 tooth gear which would never work for about 10 miles maybe, if it even existed

you have to replace the drive gear which is machined on the output shaft, so you need the entire output shaft, and disassemble the trans to do it...you can get to about 15% off thats it.

an aod is 8 tooth drive , and you would need a 6t drive w/ a 19 t driven or 7t w/ a 23 t driven (but they aren't any good)

both aod's i had had 21t driven and were purple.....w/ 3.27's

here is the part numbers for them, the 23 tooth are for t-5's and will work for about 15-20 k b4 thrashing
you can also get a calibration box installed...but i think it's big $$$$$$

Well You got Me thiking, Me wife drives the car once and a while and it would drive her crazy, therfore makig My life more difficult if you know what I mean. What about the 3.73 with the 23 tooth would this combo be in the ball park?

OK really confused Know I pulled the driven gear out and it is a 19 tooth and the car has 3.27 gears does this mean I have a 7 tooth drive gear in the tranny?
