Default Check engine light comes on.....

Bought this 1992 Red LX 5.0 hatch two days ago. DAMNED good car....Very strong. Had a tie rod end replaced on it this morning along with two new rear tires and an alignment. Has rare black gt interior with full power electric drivers seat. Automatic. Has slight hail damage, but after a DETAILED cleaning the car looks great. Thrilled with it. BUT....

After acceleration, the check engine light comes on. My wife was driving it, took a corner just slightly fast, and after accelerating to 50 and letting off to cruise, the check engine light came on. I had her pull over, shut it off, let it set for about 30 seconds, then start it up again...and the light was off. Didn't come on again. But its done this to me.

Any ideas? I have not had it read for codes yet. Oil preassure, temp, everything is great. Nothing out of the ordinary.....

Oxygen sensors? maybe they're 21 years old. Not 100% sure but don't the new tuners also read codes? Could be many other components but they're 4 down in that old rusty exhaust, that could throw a light. Good luck.

if you don't know, don't reply, foxes don't have "new tuners" that read codes and they don't have 4-o2's either, they are obd 1 not odb2.....OP disregard 2nd post, Now first thing you need to do is run a KOEO/KOER test, google DIY KOER and look for a link to one by joel5.0 It's an excellent write up, even though light is off, code should be stored in memory. proceed to that point and report back
