what do failing wheel bearings sound like?
Think my passenger front wheel bearing is going...noticing a distinct sound emanating from that area. Sounds like big treaded truck tires going down the road almost, and if I gently keep my foot on the gas, right around 1500-2000 revs, I can feel a vibration in the gas pedal. Sound speeds up when the car does and slows down and stops when the car slows down and stops. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

Loading the bearing will cause it to grumble/grind more, not unloading it. Turn the wheel to the left to shift weight to the right side to test the right front, and turn to the right to test the left. But if its RPM specific not speed specific its more likely engine related.

On an empty road get going 40mph, put into neutral, then turn off the engine. **Make sure to NOT turn the key off so far as to lock the steering wheel** That should rule out engine vibrations.
btw, a balancer that's out a little will usually be felt more at lower RPMs than at higher ones. Can still fell it at higher rpms.. but its more noticeable at lower.
Here is a pic of my original one. The engine had this slightly rough feel that kept bugging me. I wasn't sure what it was. Replaced the engine mounts and it got worse so I knew it was either the damper, flywheel, or crank. Stock damper was only $45 + I needed a new front oil seal. Replaced them both and it got noticeably smoother.
