Building edge of fiberglass hood

Building edge of fiberglass hood
Working on the mud work on my '93 and the edge of the hood bugs me. I'm going all high-end street rod paint job on this thing but the hood doesn't line up with the bumper. Its a Cervini's fiberglass hood. What can I use to build the edge up and make it match the bumper? Never messed with doing something like that to fiberglass. Ive got some Kitty Hair and Rage Extreme and a 2-part mixer caulk gun. Here's a pic to help show what I'm talking about.
Also I can not just move the hood forward. I already have a decent size gap at the back.

That looks like the fender not the bumper.
Is the other side like that ? Usually you can loosen the fender bolts up and there is a small amount of clearance to move the fender back. Is it possible that the fender has been moved forward some how.

The only thing you can do to build that up is sand it down to the glass going back a couple inches from the lip and start laying in some glass and resin. Youll need to sand the crap out of it to get it to shape out even and clean. If you have never worked with fiber glass do some research or find someone that can help. Make sure you get all the air out and the matt is completely saturated with resin.
That's how I would go about it , but I would try to move the hood forward and try to build up the back with fiber glass. Any mistakes in the fiber glass would be less obvious in the back.

Anyone ever use the bondo/dynatron fiberglass repair kit from Advance auto? Seems like it would have everything in it I would need for that small of a job.
hopefully that link works

I get my resin and mat from Walmart lol, cheapest I could find in my area. To be honest it doesn't look like its really that bad, it might just be psychological since its your car that it looks worse. Got any pics from a distance? Might be better off to leave it how it is.

I went and got that stuff from advance and it worked great once I figured out how to use it correctly. I did what dawson said and built up the rear to close the gap back there and move the hood forward in the process. Ive now got a perfect 3/16" gap at the rear and the front lines up with the bumper on both sides and down beside the park light.
I also made a gauge pod for under my cowl to mount my gauges better. I hate fiberglass but it is kinda fun to play with. Once I finish the mud work on the hood and bumpers it will be ready for primer. Than I get to mud the engine bay and door jambs, Then I can finally paint it. Its driving me nuts not being able to drive it.
