I'd go and get a baseline E.T. on it now so you can get some idea of just what you need to do.
I do know that this is probably the worst time of the year out there as far as drag racing goes but I'd get a baseline anyway.......

I think your right, baselines would be a good place to start. Just need a good battery tie down to pass tech then hopefully il be out this weekend. Anything in the 14s would make me pretty happy but that may be wishful thinking

Being your in Arizona. Id think heads/cam/intake/exhaust. Your fighting DA and the aod.

I think my stock 302 combo would've run 13s with an AOD. (it ran 12s on a T5). DA will play a big factor though.

Here's my setup:

Since you're an AOD, you need weight reduction, a shift kit, and a good torque converter.

I agree on the converter and shift kit. I despise the 2nd gears shuffle. I have thought a bit about weigh reduction, just not sure where to take it from. There is the rear seat, spare tire, and lighter front seats for sure. I'd love to get ride of the power window for manual ones as well.

Did you read the article I linked above? There's a decent amount of weight reduction there.

I did read it, just I don't thing I should have to make the car into a stripped out racecarcto get a 13. And being in tucson,az it's hot here for most of the year, and I have the a/c out for a few and its not worth taking it off. Power steering and sway bar seems impractical for a street car. The radio I already did, it has smaller speakers all around and a cheap radio now. But the wheels I know are a huge weight reduction. And I had to go back too the stock cooling fan due to overheating with a good electric one unfortunatally. But like to man said our air out here sucks hard. Soon I'll be getting a aluminum driveshaft and drag radials along with drag lites. Then I'm hopping a tb,larger maf and a good tune up will show some results until head cam and intake is within reach. Thank you all for the help. Sounds like I'll have to bite the bullet and save a lot to get the big power mods.

Sadly you can't get a old school auto 302 into solid 13s without spending some money. If by cheap you mean couple thousand sure.

I would like to suggest a locking 2300-2500 RPM converter for your mild combo right now. Then get upper and lower rear control arms. Just get the upper adjustable heim joint ones for the body side of the uppers.

The converter will make a pretty good difference. My last car I had a 1400 stock stall and my 60ft was best of 2.05. I put a 2800 stall in it and 60ft was down to consistent 1.77. I think that is a huge difference. Get all that power to the ground consistently, then add power. Just my humble opinion.
