Be willing to bet they're internal to the oil pump.

Im going with oil filter pressure bypass valve. What oil filter do you use OP?

Im hoping they are internal to the pump...would be an easy find and fix with a new pump. I hate to say I think its a fram ><

if you see my thread about the distributer gear it may explain more possible causes... I had a oil pump seize and snap the shaft to the distributer.

check the pump / pull it, replace it as well as get a good filter, fl1-a is all I use

pump is being replaced. a small wire from the top of a lifter infiltrated t oil pump screen, jammed the pump, snapped the rod to the dizzy and shut down the car.

I am replacing the pump, oil pickup (afraid some pieces remain in it) oil shaft and maybe the distributer as well.

replace your lifters as well if one broke, more may in the future

At least you broke the roll pin in the distributor and shut it down vs seizing the pump and spinning rod/main bearings. You got the lesser of two evils lol

Well the oil pump sending units rod snapped.. What rod and bearings are you referring to
