Default Is it worth it?

I am new to owning a mustang and want to know just how worth it it would be to rework what is wrong with it and make it something I can have as a daily driver now, but work up later.

I own a 1990 Mustang Cobra GT (it was assembled in Canada hence the "Cobra" title 'cause we all know cobra didn't mean much til 93) and it has a custom exhaust with glasspacks but one side has a broken exhaust hanger right at the end of the pipe. It has custom fabricated headers and a ram air. It has forged crank and pistons also. Other than that it is completely stock now.

It needs a water pump and the timing chain cover gasket is leaking, the power steering only works above 1,200 rpms, valve covers are leaking, it has low EGR flow and a bad O2 sensor. Also, it needs a new auto transmission because the OD band is broken and I only have 3 gears. Cosmetically, it is almost all there but the headliner is falling apart everywhere and is currently held up by duct tape (luckily the headliner is grey lol). As a new mustang owner, I would like to know how worth it it would be to fix it up as a fun daily driver and eventually build it up.

I paid no money for this car also, it was a trade for my broken down 96 Camaro.

Please help me decide. Thanks.

Ok. Thanks. Now for some technical questions. I am going to start rebuilding a trans with a reybestos OD band and Borg Warner torque converter. I know those are good brands but what would be recommended for the water pump and power steering. Plus I am open to any ideas for some reasonable upgrades. I am a ford tech and I work at a dealership so I have access to a lift as well so anything is possible.

And finally, best way to go at repairing the headliner. Like I said it is held up with duct tape if I go too fast on the highway with the windows down it flaps around...

You can try fabric adhesive and see if it holds, but it didn't work for me as the foam backing just crumbles from age. Latemodel Restoration sells new headliners for $200. Otherwise Craigslist or junkyard.

Summit sells a high flow water pump for 5.0's for pretty cheap, I wanna say it was about the same if not cheaper than oem.
