VACUUM LEAK & RICH FUEL ISSUE
#12
thanks, will do. i might just change the plugs again even though they didn't look bad... they'll have to come out anyway to do the compression test. would you suggest a hotter plug? Any way to tell if injector possibly overspraying?
get a compression test done . check that #6 injector to see if its working . You can usually hear the injector clicking by using a long screw driver and holding the blade on the top of it and putting the handle you your ear.
Failing the power balance test says its either lack of compression on that cylinder , a dead miss from fowled plug or not enough fuel to ignite properly .

An update to my issues: i have changed the upper intake gaskets but that didnt stop the whistle at idle. While i had the upper intake off, i had the notion to check the bolts in the lower intake and found them to be looser than i thought they should be so i tightned them up and replaced a few dried rubber hoses & plugs before reinstalling the upper part. I also went ahead and replaced the IAT Sensor while i had access to it with the intake off, i also cleaned one oxygen sensor on the passenger side and replaced the one on the driver side with one i already had & i knew was good. Today i have driven it for the first time since all this work and it seems a lot better. So far the intermittant engine miss is not there and it seems to be burning all or most of the fuel instead of sending it out the exhaust. Its nowhere as rich as it was.
