Shift boot plate bolts won't come out
Hello,
I just picked up a Steeda tri ax shifter. When I try taking out the bolts for the shift boot plate they only go so far, make a popping noise and go back in. I've only been successful in removing one bolt so far. Does anyone have suggestions on how to remove them so I don't snap them?
Thanks

Shift boot plate has a seal and likely some rtv sealant on it. Get all the bolts loose as possible and gently try to get a flat screw driver under it and pry it up a bit.
I have used a flat screw driver with the end bent to a 90 degree angle to get under it and rock the handle side to side a bit.
