Default 83 lowering springs?

I've got the 17x9 wheels ordered... Next, lower, 1-1 1/2 inches. Any suggestions? I'm looking for something that I can drive everyday, and not have the discs in my back jolted. I have read the Ford Racing springs are great... Just though I would try to get a few ideas though. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I have 17×9 rims on my 88 notch, it's been lowered 2". Running 235/45's in front and 255/40's in back. Fronts do rub slightly at full turn but I fixed that by not turning sharp lol. I don't care for the ride "box of rocks", but it sure looks nice. Id also recommend the "bump steer kit", on a rough/bumpy road it can be a handfull with out it, especially running wide tires in front.
