Default 4id fox heater and cruise control not working

OK back ground of my fox,

83 glx conv. 78,000 miles 5.0
but I have efi, and a aod trans now.
Not sure why these two parts of the car are not working... I did have this problem before I did the efi conversion and trans change out.

So the cruise control I am not sure when it stopped working, I do know that 3 years ago the air flow was not working and a buddy of my friend put a vacuum tester on it and found a leak it was fixed. In AZ you need the ac blowing. The heater was working to. So after about 6 months I needed heat and the heater would not blow heat, just ice cold and the ac was off, yes is was like below 60 degrees outside. It seem to blow warm for about a minute. The ac works fine blows ice cold. So I am wondering if the cruise control and the pod for the heater could not be getting the vacuum need? But I was told the vacuum was fine.

cruise control does not plugin to the 89 cpu, it goes in to the car?

What should I be looking for or testing? Not the heater core, thermostat, low on fuild. I have check that.
Any in sight to what you think I should check / test next? Thx for your help!

sounds like the blend door is not switching from cold to hot. I would find out what your buddy did to repair the vacuum leak. Or pull the dash and get to the actuator and see if its jammed .

Ok, I look in to this, I think I can hear the door move when I move the lever from cold to hot... so It is some thing else... are you talking about the pods?

So more tests and this might help or not...

When I turn the ac on and right to max, the vent on the passenger door opens, if I then move it to any other setting the vent closes, but if I put it back to max the vent does not open again unless I turn the ac to off and back to max. If I run the ac and move the cold / hot lever to hot I hear the door close I think this is what you call the blend door... The ice cold air still comes out almost just as cold, it does not get hot. It seems if I mess with the vacuum hoses by the glove box when i have it set to heat the air does get a little hot, but if I mess with any of the setting I'll lose the little heat I was getting.

So I am wondering what is that blend door made of? Could it be bad?

Or what insight do u have?
