EGR hose blocked???

Default EGR hose blocked???

my mustang has a hose blocked off with a bolt. i dont know why. is this a ghetto way of EGR delete, i bought the car like this. should i just delete it because the hose is blocked off? i have pics attached to show. thanks for your help

I'm not the most knowledgeable guy, but I don't think there is any vacuum coming out of the valve, there should be a vacuum line going to it, that's the one that should be plugged. It's a switched vacuum line meaning it wont have vacuum until its called for. I'd find that line and reconnect and see if the EGR even works, then decide weather or not to keep it. Someone correct me me if I'm way off on this one.

lol you said it 88 there is no vacuum coming from the egr . The line that hoods up to it is comes from the passanger side fender well and it should be grouped with about 3 other tubes . I doubt that you have vacuum going to the egr vacuum solenoid either , which is what sends the vacuum to the egr .

I would advise not going with the EGR delete. It does more then just emissions stuff. It also helps reduce the temps in the cylinders & valves and improve fuel economy. Just sayin’...
