Hey guys I just bought a 1988 ford mustang lx 5.0 2 days ago. I was planning to remove the wiper arms and cowl to paint the trim around the window along with the cowl and wiper arms. But the problem is that my wiper arms are missing the clip that you pull out to let the arms rest on the clip to remove them. So how can I remove the wiper arms if they are missing the clip. Has anybody ever had this problem?

If they are missing the slide clip then there is nothing holding them on. Possibly corrosion?

try a piece of wood under it. like a 1 X 2 and slowly twist and turn and see if it lifts it up.

There should be clips that hold them in place like Dawson stated. Are they corroded?

thanks guys i used a screw driver and wedged it between and got them off.
