Stock Clutch Fan vs. Aftermarket
Hey guys, after a lot of consideration I have decided to swap out my clutch fan (while doing an external fan on the front at the same time), but the only problem is choosing which fan? The OEM Ford fan is $106.00 and the aftermarkets such as Doorman (junk) and the nameless aftermarkets on websites are $30 bucks. Has anybody had good or bad experiences with the aftermarkets or should I just spend the extra 70 bucks? Thanks in advance!

hi,
if you go electric you need sa fsan that draws at least 35 amps, spal is likely the best aftermarket see their site under peformance fans. most fan mfgs lie about cfm so look at amp draw only.
anything less than 35 amps will not be close to the cfm a stock fan pulls.
most oem fans are 35 amp or more.
the ford contour fan set up is xlnt but it is a puller set up and needs a certain width radiator. they are around 149.00.
