Default supercharge 1990gt, will the bottom end hold?

Now we all know the rumor/fact that stock bottom ends on the pushrod 5.0's don't hold anywhere from 400-500 whp so well and considered ticking time bombs. A lot say yay and some nay. My car currently has a h/c/I setup that consists of trickflow heads stage one tfs cam supporting bolt ons tuned and makes 304/316. I have been bored with that power for quite some time now and im trying to supercharge it to get atleast a 100hp gain. Most likely put a used vortech on it and try to make around 450 rwhp. I have a tremec 3550 trans also so that will clear out the tranny questions regarding the torque. Currently running a 190 fuel pump with 24lb injectors (upgrading to trickflow 44's and 255 lph pump. I also might swap out the 4:10's for 3:55's. What do you guys think?

I think you are right at the threshold. But I agree about the tune, and keep your revs down

I mean I can settle for about 400, anything to help preserve my motor. You mean 450 being the threshold? As for revs I don't beat the living hell out of my car like some guys do but don't get me wrong when I open her up, shes screaming to 6k up to the top of 4th haha

400 at the tires is 460 at the crank. Main girdle will help some.

NO. Girdles don't do **** except for holding everything together when that thing decides to grenade. Keeping the revs down below 6000 will help more than anything, cap walk is what normally kills these motors.

if you have old cast pistons, they can grenade, rods can break etc, it will likely have detonation.

have the engine de-carbonized,good tune, and lower temperature thermostat, plenty of fuel.Tell the tuner to tune the car safe, not for the best performance. And keep the revs low,

The car is light weight, on a blower you don't need high revs, so retard the timing and tune the car to 400 HP at the engine. With matching torque that's more than enough power you need to make the car fly like a bat out of hell.

Screw the internals, ive seen blocks split in half going past 400 supercharged.
My 347 smoked all the cars ive ran into so far and not many try me listening to that cam.
The key is traction and good suspension and brakes so you don't crash.
Boost in this light car can get you into trouble fast.
