I removed the old broken sun visor from the rod in my 91 convertible mustang.
How do I get it back on without damage? Is there a trick?
I can only get it back on the visor rod halfway.

good question. I have searched internet up and down with no info on this.

Just replaced mine last night....Use some muscle and force the old ones off the stalk and the new ones back on the stalk...They are pretty stubborn, but they will slide back on with some sturdy effort and persistence...You might want to use a little lube or something...
