Removing components

Removing components
I am putting an 89 5.0 into my wife's 66 Mustang, and I will be retaining the fuel injection setup. I was hoping someone would have some experience with removing a couple of components. Specifically, there is a canister purge solenoid (or something like that - I don't have the diagram handy). It is a vacuum line from the intake plenum to a solenoid. I do not plan to install a charcoal canister, so I would like to remove this. Will this have any negative impact on how the system performs? Will it "confuse" the computer?
Also, there is a speed sensor on the wiring diagram. Can anyone tell me where this is located? The T-5 that I am running has what appears to be a standard "old-school" speedo drive and driven gear. Is there a component somewhere that I am missing? If I don't run a speed sensor, again, will it confuse the computer? I don't really care if it triggers the check engine light, as I don't plan to wire that up to the dash (I will, of course, still have the ability to plug in a code reader into the factory plug to pull codes).
I am sure I will have more questions as I get this thing all wired up.
Thanks,

I run my 89, with the factory 89 computer without the charcoal canister, and it runs fine. I plugged the vacuum line at the intake. The speed sensor goes between the "old school" speedo drive and the speedo cable. I've run mine a few times with the sensor cable disconnected, and the only issue (which I liked) was that the rpm's drop to idle as soon as you shift to neutral. With the speed sensor, the computer holds the engine at fast idle, and doesn't drop to idle until the speed goes to zero, or that is how it works on my 89. You can pull codes with a code reader, and you can turn codes off with a chip, e.g. EGR controls.

put it all together you'll be fine, no need for worry. The ecm does not care about the canister, but if the solenoid is not plugged in(electrical plug) may store a locked code, not a C/E light though. The same if the egr is not plugged in (electrically).Dont worry bout the speed witch
