Default Royal purple ATF bad for T5

Ok before you shoot me.. I did search a lot of forums.. All of them went off topic, never really gave an answer, or died as threads..

I just did a clutch in my 1990, Did everything top to bottom. This car has had a rough life, slowly bring it back to life. The last thing I did was drain the T5 and fill it with some royal purple ATF I had from a prior car. Now I started hearing that it's bad for T5's due to brass in the tranny. Should I drain it and change it to be safe?
