Default GT bucket seats

I have sourced a pair of low-back bucket seats from an 87 mustang, as a modern seat option for my 67 mustang. I want to replace the foam and covers with the high-back GT "sport" style seats. Can anyone tell me if the 87 seat frames are the same for the low back and high back seats? or were they different sized frames? I have been told they are different frames, but I cannot find anything on the net that supports this. Thanks.

Sorry, don't know for sure, but you might try "Latemodel Restoration" for any info if their kits fit both.

I know that the backrest part of the frame is different. I'd assume the cushion is different too because of the adjustable side bolsters.

Here is a pic of a drivers frame from my 89GT

Thanks for the replies. I was able to find my answer by sourcing a different set of seats from my local pick n pull. The GT / "sport" / high back seats came with the thigh and knee bolsters on the seat. As far as I can tell the seat back frame is the same, and just the foam makes the difference between the low and high back option. The seat bottom frames appear different, depending on if you have the thigh and knee bolsters. The headrests are also different sizes.
