I believe there are some county's in northern California that do no smog type tests at all.
you may need to just get a new address for registration purposes.......

How do you like the lope from the 303? do you have intake manifold spacers? if so how big? I'm actually reconsidering the 347, some guy that specializes in head porting says 331 would be better for a DD. Anywho, I may not do this at all since it's a convert. I might wait till I get a hard top.

That is why my car has GA plates. I don't give 2 ****s if it passes smog because technically with the GA plates it is exempt

Default Guess you have been in the state less than 20 days?

Check this out:

http://www.dmv.org/ca-california/car-registration.php

If resident now of California, you have twenty (20) days to register a car. If 1976 or newer, must pass smog...

Around So Cal, the local cops/Highway Patrol keeps tabs on out of state vehicle they see repeatedly....local cops too - since it means "income" for the ticket and repeat money for the tags etc...

Not if you are an out of state student. And I make sure I take my one class a year. Plus, the disabled veteran tag helps

wtf.....not the ole rod rationale is that retard using to justify his claim?? if so he's a complete ignorant fool........., they're plenty of sbc's out there that have a worse rod rationale than a 347's that have gone well over 100k, I have a few customers with 347 that have gone over 100k and don't burn any oil.......347 will be just as good for a d/d......if a machinest has to agure it won't , it's because he's incompetent with his machining practices

Yes, he said something about how the rods in 347 are not weak but will have more torque on them compared to a 331 therefore the 331 would last longer than a 347. I talked to one of my other "guys" and he said that people that "specialize" in head porting really don't know what they are doing when rebuilding. I'm still looking for a good shop in my area.
