i have a stock 89 mustang guage reads about 3 to 4 marks from bottom put new battery and altinator is fine where should guage be at and if not charing right what could it be have all the stock pulleys and still has the smog oump on it thank you this is first ford owned

Since this is your first Foxbody, never ever trust the stock gauges for accuracy. Check with a decent multimeter and note where the dash gauge is reading for future reference.

Also, it's ok to use punctuation in your posts. Just easier for us old people to follow

As mention the gauge doesn't read accurate, use a millimeter touch the leads on the battery post they should read around 12.5 when the car is off. Now turn the car on and do the same thing if the charging system is working you should have a reading around 14.X. I was running into the same issue as my gauge reading was low to find out my voltage regulator was bad.
