Default Spark plug gap questions

When I installed the TFS 185cc heads last spring Trick Flow said to run the Autolite 3924's gapped at .045 with the factory ignition.
This spring I am upgrading to an MSD coil, TFI module and new cap/rotor and wires but no ignition box.
Will adjusting the gap be worth it and what gap is recommended?
I only picked up .3 and 3 mph with the heads and I am very disappointed at this point.

your heads are not the problem, nor the gap on the plug, your bottle neck lies in the gt-40 intake and b-cam and exhaust could play a factor depending on the size as well......while the gt-40 intake still performs well for a 20+ year old intake, it's lower is quite restrictive, when I do a motor, I port match everything as well as look at all the little things, there's a difference between an egine builder vs assembler
