Default GT40 w/ Explorer non-EGR lower

I have a GT40 tubular upper and am having Tmoss port a lower for me. The lower I am getting done is from an Explorer without the EGR. I need at least a 1" phenolic spacer for the intake to clear the valve covers.
With the upper having the EGR hole and most spacers do, how can I get around this? I plan on removing the EGR itself but will the upper with the hole cause problems? Is there any known phenolic spacers without the EGR hole?

This may be simple to some but over my head. I just want no issues when I am installing this.

Any help or ideas from someone who has done this?

Thanks!
