Keep breaking clutch cable. Wrong quadrant hook?
#11
Are you saying that the quadrant is aligned at an angle so the cable rubs on the side when it goes through the firewall? I don't know why this would make it break...but okay, elaborate.
Also, the last time the new cable broke, it was when I was just sitting in traffic for a while and the car was getting really hot. Also, the car is black so now once I think, it makes sense that maybe it broke because of the heat.

Pull your quadrant out and look at it. I bet you'll see wear marks on it, as to where it has bound and chaffed your cable.
Once I swapped away from a multi-hook quadrant, I never broke a cable again. I was running a cheap adjustable too. the ones that nobody ever has luck with.
yet, with my multi-hook, i broke about 7 cables.

I had a UPR triple hook in it when I bought the car and yes the cable rubbed it and broke at the quadrant. The 2nd one I had broke the sheathing outside just past the adjuster. Looked like it got skinned. Hadnt had either issue with the MM stuff.
