Default EFI swap 66 mustang smog/emissions

I'm doing an EFI swap to my 66 mustang. I have an 88 5.0 engine. I'm switching to mass air and new harness to support this. I want to clean up the engine by removing the smog/emissions. I've been reading blogs but looking for a more precise instruction to properly eliminate everything without any issues when I start it up. I got a new egr spacer and Bbk throttle body, as well as new harness from ford racing and smog eliminator pulley from ford racing. Any help would be great. The blogs get confusing.

Elimination of the smog equipment and egr doesn't have any effect on the engines ability to run or perform, at most it would set a code in the computer that turns the cel on , wouldn't ever know in the 66 because it doesn't use check engine light. As long as you have the proper eliminator pulley and a good egr block off plate, run it.

I've been reading researching this smog EGR issue of removing or not. Interesting the various opinions out there. Some say it affects drivability and others say it don't. Like I said the removal would be mainly for looks going into my 66 coupe.

If anyone out there has done an efi conversion and removed all emmisons or removed all emmisons from an 88 to 93 I would like to know if you had any drivability issues, tuning issues, ect. I plan to run a BBK 70mm throttle body with BBK MAF (motor is actually an 88), bought the new harness for MAF, AL9 computer, will use 19lb fuel injectors.
