wont fire
started car for first time the other day.. brought up to temp by letting idle for twenty min or so. went around the block. got about a mile from house and car made a funny noise. dont know how to explain it. I don't really remember if I stalled it or if it stalled on its own. all it does is crank over and pop and almost fire over and over. showing fuel pressure on the guage. could it just be a bad fuel orl filter from sitting all winter? car cranks and cranks and pops and pops but wont fire

how could the timing instantly jump like that.. the car ran perfect for a short period of time.. 20 min to 45 min.. somewhere in there, then suddenly stalled and now only cranks over and almost starts. it sounds like it is just about to start. even turns over a few more times after I stop turning it over with the starter. I pulled the dis cap and it looks fine under the cap

My suggestion is to put a timing light on it while your cranking it and see where the timing is..
The distributor gear that rides against the cam may be damaged or the pin that holds in place could have sheared off. You need to pull the distributor to check that if your timing is not holding when the timing light is used.
Also your if you have fuel pressure, what is it? 15psi? 20psi? It should be at somewhere between 32-35 psi.

One of the main causes for roll pin shearing off if an oil pump that has seized up.
Generally it will twist the oil pump shaft until it snaps but it puts an extreme load on the dizzy gear and can destroy that gear or shear the pin

+ negative one ...... since all these guys are convinced it's a distrib gear sheared (I'm not) pull cap and crank over and see if rotor spins.....if this is the car in your sig and is supercharged, make sure you didn't pop off any of the intake tubing/ charge hoses from maf up......fyi sheared distributor pin won't allow rotor to spin thus no spark tranfer would occur to any of the plugs, thus wouldn't act like it wants to start...it'd crank and crank.......

yea it def seems to want to fire.. fuel pressure is 32-36.. but sometimes drops off which is what makes me wonder. seems to be getting spark. I pulled the wire off the coil and jumped it and seemed to have good speark. it actually cranks a few extra times after u stop with the starter so its almost firing.. im not sure what it actually has for a pump. I know there is a 255 in line pump but not sure if there is an in tank pump also. I didn't do the fuel setup since I didn't do the supercharger, but I want t say when I first put in crate motor before the blower I went with a walbro 255 in tank. but I know there is a vortech in line pump underneath
