Default 19lbl or 24lbl Injectors?

Hey guys sorry to ask a tired question, but I just needed to double check to make sure I get the right parts. I was wondering two things: 1. what size injectors I need and 2. do I need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? My engine mods are: BBK CAI, C&L 73mm MAF, 70MM TB, Edelbrock EFI intake manifold, and a full off road exhaust.

19s are fine your not making near enough power to justify the expense of changing to 24lbs. IF you plan on getting some better than stock heads and a cam later 24s might be of some help.

with the set up you have now you don't need an adjustable fpr either.

I think you guys are right, the choke point is certainly the heads and until those are upgraded I don't see the need. I just was not sure because all that I know is the 80% duty cycle on the 19lbl injectors are 285hp, but how are you REALLY supposed to know besides a dyno or wide band meter?

A wideband only tells you your air/Fuel ratio. Doesn't measure horsepower.

hi;

that's easy, computer dyno syms and years of experience.

you need a cam to match head flow. just increasing head flow will not do a ton for you.

I was gonna stay out of this one because everyone gave the right answers. But here's my .02.

My car makes 300 at the wheels, or 340-345 at the crank. I'm still running 19's, should I get 24's……yes. But I'm getting up in the years and getting tired of the wrenching. I have a Anderson PMS that tells you the injector duty cycle, also a wideband. For everyday, normal driving my duty cycle rarely goes over 30%, 60% during an onramp romp to freeway speeds.

Now my car does see the track 2-3 times a year, where my duty cycle is maxed out for 1-2 seconds at the top of 2nd gear. 1st gear is over before a blink, and I shortshift the 3 to 4 because of my gearing. My wideband shows no sign of any lean condition. I was told that an injector can take a short burst of 100% duty cycle. Its the prolonged runs like road racing that will burn them up.

That being said, I'm going to our huge bi-annual swap meet tomorrow looking for 24's and calibrated MAF. Better save than sorry.
