I bought a 1995 mustang, that started out life as a GTS with an automatic transmission. It now has a 5 speed manual transmission. The motor has the cobra intake on top, and I was told that the motor and transmission came out of a cobra. I looked on the internet, and apparently the gt came with 19lb injectors, and the cobra came with 24lb injectors. My car has 24lb injectors. What I am wondering, is how can I tell if this is a true cobra motor, or if someone just put the cobra intake on it.

I don't think there are any identifying marks on the block it self , as the blocks are the same . The main difference between cobra engines and regular 5.0 HO engines is that the cobra engines have a slightly larger cam, with 1.7 crane roller rockers, gt40 heads, and a cobra intake with 24lb injectors.

The throttle body was a 65mm, and the MAF meter was different.

It is a very common mod to put the top end from a cobra on a standard 5.0L HO engine.
