so today I changed few pieces on my 92 mustang GT.
with no previous experience but I'm good with my hands
- removed old spark plugs and installed new NGK iridium IX
- removed old spark plug wires and installed ford racing high performance
- removed old cap and rotor and installed MSD cap and rotor

took me 2 hours but I did it and good part?? car started LOL

next step,
oil change, royal purple filter and oil
tfi module
egr valve
oxygen sensor
I yet have to read and find where the oxygen sensor is

then,
alternator
AC delete kit,
underdrive pullies

that will be it for the engine side for this summer I think


winter
mostly on the inside and weather proofing and new sound system hence the alternator upgrade and maybe a new carbon fiber hood not sure what type I'll have to think about it

then 5 lug conversion and then talk to you guys to see how with my stock engine I can get 300-350HP and same torque if that's even possible without blowing anything up. rather discuss with people and come up with a plan than throw in money with no plan and then buy the same part twice.

There are 2 02 sensors, 1 on each side of the exhaust just below where it connects to the headers.

Great job, it's a nice feeling when you accomplish something that's new to you. Congrats for getting your hands dirty.

But I have to ask, why replace the TFI, EGR, and the O2's. Are you getting codes that say they're bad, or is this just preventative maintenance? Good for you for trying but make sure you try to use good namebrand replacement parts, not the cheapo import stuff. I've learned my lesson more than once.

And for your O2's, they make a special socket to remove them .

yes I use good names only no cheapo stuff for me. no change vs cheap I prefer to go with no change.

LOL for the o2 sensor I bought just 1 should have asked before buying I'll have to grab another one.

and yes it's mostly preventive I bought this car last friday and for me it's a dream come true. I'm 38 and since I was 18 I've been dreaming about a fox body mustang... every time I had the money I decided to do something else with it... well not this time

1992 mustang GT black on black 150 000km which is close to.... 90k or 100k miles more or less.

also waiting for my code reader damn amazon not sure why it takes so long.

I'm just replacing sensors and such for this summer, parts that go bad eventually and can cause weird issues... so that's what I want to hit first and it also allows me to know about the different crazy parts in the engine bay that can make me cry when they go bad.

You dont need a code reader, you can just do it this way

you know, my dad used to like doing manual work, the only problem with him was he would never get the right tools to get the job done to dig a hole he would use a spoon instead of going and bying a shovel.

eventually he got sick and tired of doing manual stuff because it was never done right. me on the other hand I've always been "the right tool for the right job" that's why I bought the code reader vs counting lights and such... could work and probably does but I'm lazy lol

your mags look nice, can't wait to do a 5 lug conversion this winter for a nice set of black mags would look sick.

That Royal Purple oil and filter is a waste of money.
Just use a quality oil and filter.....

Seriously though, I was kind of a late bloomer too. When all of my friends were into foxbodies, I had a Chevelle, then a Grand National.

Now, 95% of my friends don't have a Mustang of any kind, and here I am on my 7th, keepin' the dream alive!
