REPLACEMENT ECM
Hi all,
I need to replace the ECM in a 1989 LX, Blue Print 331 stroker motor, AOD, Trick Flow intake, CAI, 28# injectors, etc...
Old ECM P/N E9ZF-12A650-C2A
I can not find an ECM with this part number. Are other ECM's compatible?
It is definitely bad there was charring around 2 capacitors on the board.

Looks great! Thanks much!
I have never seen a programmable ECM for a fox body before! We will definitely check into this. Do you have actuall experience with Megasquirt?

I've met owners and seen their cars running on MegaSquirt, but never a PnP. That's the limit of my experience (which is to say I have virtually none). MegaSquirt in general has been around for quite awhile and are pretty well known though. They started out as basically the "heathkit" of ECMs (build it yourself from plans) and you still can. Then they grew into what they are today.
A google of "MegaSquirt" should keep you busy reading for about 2 months. The PnP should be mostly the same idea, just literally dirt simple to install.
Good luck! If you do go that route I don't think I'd be alone in wanting to hear about your results! I'm very curious about how good/bad the launch control and traction control are.

I bought my reman'd A9P from Autozone for $100, and it was in stock.
And nothing against Megasquirt, or any other tuner. But the stock ECM is quite capable. With my mods, the stock ECM kept air/fuel ratio right on the money with stock driveability.

They are nice to have, but on a bolt on NA car, the stock computer will do fine.

Thanks guys for the response's. We really didn't want to spend the extra cash for the Megasquirt right now. It's good to know the Stock ECM can handle it.
I'm sure once this beast is running and we get used to it we will start looking for more power.
