Default 1995 mustang running hotter than normal

So i am in Oklahoma and it has been near 100 with heat index in the 105-110.

I noticed on the highway with ac on, the car will get to the "L" on the gauge after a 30 mile drive. i replaced t-stat with a 160* and flushed radiator and it did not change at all. Yesterday ambiant temp was 85* and drove 10 miles and had it back up to the "a" of normal.

i know the manual says
If the guage is in the "NORMAL" range, then engine temperatures are within the operating temps. Only once the gauge moves to the red indicator line, to the right of "NORMAL", has the engine exceeded normal operating temps.

But it seems to be running to hot for my liking... any thoughts?

The factory gauges suck. If it's not overheating don't worry about it.

This ^^^, then give the system a good flush. If still hot, then start looking for soft hoses that can collapse, how old are your pump and radiator?

Also, as blue said, stock gauges can be off by a lot. Get an infrared thermometer and shoot the T-stat housing when it's hot. Then compare that to your gauge.
