Default Stumped - non-starting

Ok symptom car stalled on a hot day, got it restarted and limped it further and stalled again. Managed to get it to a parking lot and then proceeded to trouble shoot the whole works.

Had spark, tried to adjust timing a bit and that helped at one point (popped out cap and moved it one tooth)
Then all of a sudden the fuel pump died.

Tore the car down after checking fuses and harness connections. dropped the tank and tested the pump. Pump is fine.

Put that all together and then checked electrical to the relay (bro in law told me connections get green and wont let voltage pass, so there is a problem somewhere). Was getting no voltage from the relay under the driver seat. Made a kill switch to power the pump. Went to start the car and nothing. Tried distributor in a bunch of locations.

Today I set to Top Dead Center and put the cap and rotor pointing to plug #1. Non start, with kill switch on and pump running.
Rotated cap 180 degrees just incase I screwed up TDC. and nothing.

Did I err somewhere? Would love to get her back and running.

Um, sounds like you have a can of worms now. Why did you mess with the tIming? Was it running bad before this?

First, make sure your dizzy is stabbed correctly. #1 cyl is TDC and rotor pointing at #1 wire on cap. Buy or rent a fuel pressure tester and verify you have 36-38 lbs in the fuel rails. Verify you have good spark. If all that checks out, then check your injectors, are they getting a signal to fire?

I can't remember the test procedure for that, but if you search this forum or just Google it, you'll find it. It is simple to do. Then let us know what you find.

Yea I messed with the timing because it was running like crap, but I could hear the fuel pump. Then the heat got to the pump and then ended it's operation.

Rotor is pointing to number 1 and at tdc.

Released the pressure on the fuel line, but could not test PSI, there is pressure. I can hear the pump workin.

I will check injectors and relays.
Maybe my eec died. May be the reason the relay to the pump would not turn on and supply voltage.?>?>?

Maybe more bad connections. Of course I cannot find either of my manuals.
