Default 92 Fox runs rich! Is it because of no O2's?

So I accidentally sold my old O2 sensors on my old H-pipe and now I just have plugs in there. And the car now always seems to be running rich. Smells like gas all the time. It still gets like 21 mpg on the highway which isn't too bad. But after having my desktop computer in the trunk for a long drive the computer put out fumes through the fans for a whole day haha.

I don't remember if it seemed rich before I took out the O2 sensors, I haven't had the car that long. The car also bangs and pops when it's reving down which is fun but is that a product of the richness or is that your typical exhaust leak?

So should I replace the O2 sensors? Or can I tune the car to run without them? Is that a thing? If I replace them, is it likely that there could be a dozen other things that could be causing the computer to default to rich settings like this?

Thanks a ton!
