OH! WELL WHY DIDNT YOU SAY SO. With that cam and intake the sky is the limit. I'd use a little hopes and dreams just to get the extra 2WHP your looking for. Maybe a little unicorn ****?

After reading this I feel soooo stupid. I purchased over three grand of quality name brand parts. Trick flow 190 heads, "R" series intake, etc. Did the work myself to save the labor costs and still only got low 320WHP. I should have these guys work their magic and save all that time and money.

Ops, my bad. My brain didn't register the B cam. That explains it, and I was going to go that route with my similar build, but I know my stock axles wouldn't take THAT amount of power. I had to settle for the E cam.

Oh look at you. Now that you figured out you have no idea what your talking about your more polite. It sounds like your budget is tight so buy used heads or a GT 40 set of heads and intake from a junk yard. I have a trick flow stage one cam ill sell you if you wanna go the cheap route. If your budget isn't restricted go to summit racing and order the trick flow 360HP kit! (Heads, Cam, Intake, push rods, etc.) All of the parts are matched for you already so you know they'll all work well together. This kit will make 280-290 to the wheels and make for a lively stang! Welcome to the forum and good luck with your build.

When I built a 400+ HP 302 about 10 years ago I spent almost $1000 just on machine work and balancing.

im not 100% sure what the enternals of my motor are but it put down 340-348 on two different dynos, i know its bored with a voodoo cam an a set of ported gt40s, edelbrock performer rpm intake, edelbrock 650 carb, thats all that i know 100% of. the rest of the work was done before i got the motor. but i know he didnt spend too much on it

wow, that's a bit abrasive for someone asking for help.

i suggest you don't **** off the people that know how to build engines.

there is a huge difference between a 400 hp "budget" build and a "RELIABLE" 400 hp build which i think he was trying to imply.

if you simply want 400 hp, but in a big cam, some chinese pro comp heads and a nitrous kit.

the pro comp heads can also be bought bare and have good parts installed.

the gt40 heads are crap. the gt40p heads are decent and have smaller combustion chambers thsan the non p heads.

if you buy used heads you have to pay at least 200.00 to rebuild them.

you need your static compression around 10.5 to optimize perf on 91 octane gas but that is too high for stock iron heads.

you can also buy rebuilt e7 iron heads that are ported from powerheads.com for $800.00.

racingjunk.com has lots of used high perf parts.

Damn, that is one quick '88. That 175 shot of nitrous doesn't hurt. All the Pass Time guys guessing in the mid 12s and that guy throws down a sub 9 second pass. Nice!
