On a cold motor, I fill the radiator not quite full, start the motor, let it warm up. When the coolant in the block gets up to 180', 190' the thermostat should open and allow the coolant to circulate. The level in the radiator will drop, so have some extra ready to slowly add. You'll see bubbles and air pockets coming out the rad. neck. When level seems to hold at about 2" below neck, throw the cap on and drive the car for 10 min. Keeping an eye on the temp gauge, just in case.
Park the car and check level at the reservoir, add THERE if needed. don't remove the rad. cap. Just saying as I don't know your "skills" (as a reference to a great movie.)
