Smoke through the defrost vent, do you smell coolant ? I would first check the heater core.

ITs the heater core. only way for steam to come through the defrost.

It should
Obviously its been leaking for quite some time, and running low on coolant. Usually the first thing that happens is it quits blowing hot air because there is no coolant in the heater core any more. Im actually pretty surprised that you didn't notice the floor on the passanger side being wet at some point when it first started to leak.

yes the floor has been getting damp since i got the car back in november but just started doing this recently. i guess cause the mississippi heat getting to it. Im restoring the car. i drive it like 2 a month so this was expected.

Default Heater core replaced...

I have replaced ther heater core but yet it still chooses to run hot. i actually think it is the thermostat because the hoses off the heater core are hot but the radiator is cool. so i guess the thermostat is not relieving the hot fluid back into the radiator..... COMMENT plz.... need the car running right soon. plan to take it to crusing the coast in gulfport next weekend.
