Default Voltage Question

Hey guys, I just wanted to know if this is a normal symptom or if something is off... if I turn everything on (A/C vents on max, radio on, head lights, and push the brake pedal) my voltage meter goes down to the 40% mark (saying 0% is the bottom and 100% is the top) and bobs up and down with the RPMs. I find this strange because I have a red Optima battery (brand new) and a 3G 120amp alternator (new with to proper wiring).... is this normal for a 5.0?

That sounds about right as your putting a pretty big load on that alt. at idle.

Ok. This is my first 5.0, so I didn't know. I only had the 2.3L before lol. So is there any way to improve that? I figured once I upgraded the alternator that would fix the problem, but I guess not. It does seem better though, but it still does it.

3g conversion or powermaster 140 amp single wire are the upgrades you can do.

Got ya, I've been chasing this problem for a while but I guess I've done all I can. Red Optima battery, 3G conversion (with proper wiring), and even put my base idle to 800... still nothing. It just feels like it's going to stall out, so I wanted to know if it was something going on with my car or if it was normal.

if you have underdrive pullies get rid of them if low idle output is the issue

No under drive pulleys for that exact reason. I just find it strange that my 2.2L Cobalt can handle all of that with no problems and it's bone stock, but my modded to hell 5.0 can't take a load like that!?
