5.0L (1979-1995) Mustang Technical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.

is it possible

not exactly. you have 2 different 351s from Ford. The Windsor and the Cleveland and they are not anywhere close. The only similarities are the bore size and cylinder head bolt patterns.

does it change for the 93-95 lightning though is what I'm trying to find out to fit it so I don't have to do a big crazy tunnel re-fab

at most I don't want to have to make the whole thing just where the transmission is

you can use a Mustang transmission with the Lightning engine. using the Lightning transmission requires modification

does it matter which trans

and could I find any 5.8 engine and just put the different heads and intake on it and still have it work or does it have to be a lightning motor to have it work with the mustang trans auto or 5 speed in order to bolt up

I'm well aware of the 351c, I thought we all understood he was talking about a 351w since it was out of a lightening so no need to clarify in this case, which is why I wrote what I did......but if it makes you feel better......351w is a 351w all better now??

Yes a mustang transmission will bolt up to a lightning motor. But the lightning computer is for the e4od and won't run an aode or 4r70w as far as I know.

and both the 351c and the 351w drop right in. they are both small blocks use the same bellhousing bolt pattern and the same engine mounts. and the heads will even interchange.

alright so a new computer system to work with the transmission will most likely be needed or a manual will need to be put into my car to avoid the computer issue with an auto
