88 5.0L HO LX, I want to make this baby scream!
I have had my 5.0 since I was 16 and have always dreamed of having that car that will turn heads and have that sound you can feel in your chest. So far I in my car I have
GT40p heads, GT40 intake, bbk shorties(I know they are not nearly as good as long tubes), I am installing a cam this weekend just am trying to decide on what one I want, Has (highway gears)<---- guy I bought it off said this but Im 99% sure they are stock, has a rebuilt AOD trans, 4 cat magnaflow exhaust, Standard tires on the stock four bolt 15s.
I get around a grand a month to spend on it. Just want to know what you guy think would be best for my set up. Not dragging it much but I am a speed demon and love to go fast. This is also my daily driver and it just rolled over 180,000kms.

600 heads in another thread with crap valvetrain, gt-40 heads, aod......you post up all stuff with someone who appears not to have the coin to support the "scream part"??........you want it to scream, look for better parts, stop looking at junk and expect to pay to play......or pony up and turbo it and be better off in the end

It's true. Everyone gets excited and wants to bolt on a ton of inferior parts then down the road they just replace them with better (More expensive parts!) Do it once and do it right. The advice above is spot on. For the cost of a good heads/Cam/intake you could turbo your car and it'll be fairly quick compared to what you'd get out off all that top end work. Either save up for proper parts or lower your expectations. You mention you have about $1000 a month to spend on your car, Three months and you got the turbo kit money. Two more months and you can pay someone to bolt it on for you and your ready to go racing next sping.
