Default Looking for opinions and help on interior fitment and colors

Looking to get info on what interior will fit my 86 hatchback. I'm painting all my interior plastics but I'm interested in getting gray or black leather or cloth seats that will bolt right in without modifying anything. Also I have maroon carpet and I'm painting my interior black. I need new interior door panels and am.thinking gray so I don't have to paint over the ones I have that are already painted white and maroon by previous owner. Will black and gray interior go with maroon carpet or should I try and incorporate more gray or maroon into it?? Any help and opinions are appreciated. I'm not looking to remove carpet but have heard of people painting carpet? ?

i would change the carpet . . it will not match . . yes you can spray paint ot or buy tut dye and put it in a spray bottle and spray it on the carpet but it might look spotty and it will feel crunchy.

Ok what about just adding some maroon in? Really not looking to change carpet. I appreciate your comments though. Might have to do carpet in the long run but really trying not to. I'm on a tight budget with this car. Already need to buy door panels miscellaneous trim pieces. Shifter. Seats. Visors. Etc

with seat and center console and seat belts and side trim pieces out and rear seat cushion pulled up, takes a few min to pull carpet, all the above pieces can be removed in 20 min and carpet set iirc is around 250 and if shopped right can be had even cheaper ACC sells decent kits, used them plenty

So I've been told that 87-93 interior door panels will bolt right onto my 86 but then others say they won't. Does anyone know this first hand? I can get 87-93 doors local but gotta order 79-86 and pay a lot for shipping on ebay. I just picked up a pair of cream ones that I was going to paint black and gray but now I'm thinking I shouldn't paint them. Thought maybe paint wouldn't hold up too good on doors. Anyone have any luck with painted doors lasting?

I've done the hard panels before in canyon red in my 85, held up for 14 years so far, however the areas that are soft/upholstry/doors that receive touch, don't hold up as well

Hard panels? I thought they were all the same do or panels? Or do you mean the rest of the interior plastics? I painted everything inside matte black. Letting it cure for another day then applying a couple coats of matte clear coat just to add another protective layer since my plastic pieces are painted white or maroon by old owner. I have another set of door panels I bought used out of a 85 convertible that I believe are leather?? Or are they vinyl? Not sure which yet. Need to know before I use the wrong paint or dye. Can I use leatherique to dye my seats or no?? I have white leather seats but I want black or gray leather or fabric

K. Ordering a short throw this winter. Also what about outer window weatherstripping. That goes across the window. Is it really $90+ just for the two windows? How do they come off?
