It's that time. I wasn't planning on doing one this early in my build but it's inevitable. I need a trans that can be manually shifted with a Hurst ratchet shifter and hold over 950 rwhp. My engine is currently being built by a buddy of mine and it is a 393 stroke big bore Boss 351W with twisted wedge 225 heads, a turbo cam and trick flow manifold with 90MM Accufab TB. It will be getting, at some point, a Garrett GTX4202R turbo with 5 inch downpipe to twin 3 inch tailpipes. But that's nothing without a transmission that can't handle it. Anyone know a good place that wont charge $8000 for a transmission? I've got about $5000 right now.
Although a 6 speed auto would be nice it's based off a GM product and costs $8300. Also, I haven't seen a single review on them.

EDIT: Took a ride in my buddies 347 Vortech 5.0 and have decided to go with a Vortech V3. Nobody makes a single turbo kit for a 351W Fox that will fit the turbo I would use and I don't really want to build another turbo system and have the car in downtime for 4-6 months in my garage/chickencoop.

It's a daily driver so I would need overdrive or run like a 2.?? rear gear. The car won't be always pushing that sort of power. I will have multiple tunes for different boost levels. The goal is 750 rwhp, i just want a little bit of protection against stuff coming apart like my first Mustang.

I'd go with a chevy power glide if your getting close to 1000WHP. My builder has told me My C4 is good for big power but I don't plan on going much higher than 800. Lentech is the best bet if yor going to want OD. A daily driver???.
