Default gt40p heads

i am wanting to know if bolting on gt40p heads on my 1987 mustang is is a true bolt on upgrade for my mustang

If you got the intake that goes with those heads it is. But it's a lot of work for 25 crank horse power.

if you use those and run premium gas, i would mill them to increase the compression.

not much of one and in stock forum, I have plenty of customers who run them on 87 octane

If you deck the heads and have the EGR bumps removed along with new springs and maybe a valve job they work well with Cobra/Explorer intake. Also know someone who has the same combo with a TFS stage 1 cam and the car runs great

I ran them in my '89 for a year with an explorer intake & x303 cam. Seemed like a decent upgrade to me.
