Default 93 mustang T5 to T56????

Currently have a 93 mustang 5.0. Building a 351w to drop in it but want more than the t5 behind it. I've been looking at kits and t56 swaps done in a fox and I know they sell for 4500 or around for everything complete. Anyone do this swap or piece parts together? Looking for options on this swap. Also not looking to spend a ton of money since I've spent a lot on this 351 build.

Okay so that's one option. Then I'm left to get the bell housing and a driveshaft and longer cables. Anything else?

We can help you with a shorten/lengthen on your existing shaft or build a new custom shaft. Let us know if we can help out with your build in any way.

An a5 is a beefed up t5. Better case better internals. You would be able to use the stick bell housing and drive shaft as the 351w has a taller deck hight but everything else is basically the same.

The a 5 is just a beefed up t5 but it's still a 5 speed. I was wanting to go with a t56 for the 6 speed. But what's the difference or comparisons between a t56 and a5?

They are completely different transmission. The t56 is a 6 speed and the a5 is a 5. However with the a5 you can opt for different first and 5th gear rations before they build it. I just installed an a5 in my buddies 90 with a 351 swap. Its a bad *** transmission and you can use all the factory mounts and bell housing. I also installed a twin disk clutch while I was in there.

I've been looking at different forums about the t56 and the a5. T56is definitely more expensive and more parts needed than the a5 but the a5 seems to be a good idea for the money. Some people say a t5 is a t5 and to spend the money. I'll be making around 450 he and close to the same in torque. Is the a5 the best fit for me?

I make 550+ on a z-spec t-5 and it's held fine.........a5 depending on the level a5 you get will be fine
