Default proffesional products intake versus cobra intake

I have a 5.0 with a cobra intake. my buddy has a professional products intake. His is polished lower and upper, mine is a silver color. i have a chance to get one that is polished upper and lower to dress up my fox but don't want to lose performance. Can someone tell me will i lose performance or are they similar.

Thank you

I would keep the cobra.....PP tent to have even rougher internal casting edges and in the tract area and port alignment often can be off.....but then again I doubt you'd even notice a loss/gain....my guess is your car has minimal mods??

Thank you, I was leaning towards keeping the cobra intake. I do have quite a few mods. I did the MAF conversion, 24LB injectors, bbk 76mm throttle body, bbk shorty headers, bbk off road h-pipe,ford racing rear end with 3.73,flowmasters dumped at rear axle,gt 40p heads,130 amp alternator with electric fan. What else can I do on a little budget???

Professional products is cheap junk. I got one for free and refused to use it.

I made this swap and I am regretting it. My engine tuner suggested upgrading my Cobra intake, because I had rebuilt the engine with a 331 stoker kit, and my HP was dropping off 5300 RPMs. He thought the added displacement was being limited by the Cobra intake. He suggested the PP Typhoon intake, to save a few bucks over the Edelbrock (it's about $200 more for the EB upper and lower). The first PP intake I got had manufacturing flaws, so I returned it. The second one I got was damaged in shipment (crappy packaging), and I finally got a third that was not defective or damaged. I should have known at that point not to install this part, but I did. I had issues with the heater hose connection lining up, and the bolt holes for mounting the throttle body and EGR spacer were slightly offset, so I had to grind the inside of the intake a little, to get the TB to line up properly. I might have gained a little top end HP, but I lost some low-end torque. I will keep the PP intake for a while, because of the money and work I invested, but long-term I am considering a different intake when I get around to putting in a custom ground cam.
Bottom line: stay away from the Professional Products intake. They are junk and I regret the day I made this swap.

Keep the Cobra intake. If you're going to make a swap and go through all that trouble, then get an intake that's worth it like a Trick Flow or Edlebrock. Or worst case if you want something polished, find a GT40 polished tubular intake. Those are pretty good actually. As for mods on a budget, do your suspension.

I'm keeping my eye out for a polished GT-40 tubular intake. I love the look of them, but a bit pricey in the used market.

It's the king baller intake... except the fact that you need a custom length a/c line if you want a/c.
