Default answers for shimmys in my car

A few quesions actually,

1. Ive heard that the pistons in the 92-95 GTs were made cheap in the 302s. However, i do have an older rebuilt 302 from an 84Thunderbird. and the 302 engine running in my 94GT i have now has over 150K miles on it : and definately some where theres a vacume leak. It should be simple to do a 302 bottom end swap right?

2 My starts to shake every other other split second after 35mph. Feels like the car is tapping on the breaks and you can feel a sudden slow down and a bump vibration through out the entire car.

What is that by the way, it feels like its the tranny but i know its not. it bangs itself up and theres no fuel getting in it seems. And i know it could be a number of problems. Im sure some of you have had this same problem and know the answer. Please help.

No its not an AOD. Its a 5 speed manual.. Seems like i had a significant loss in horsepower. Or a vacume leak somewhere TY

Brakes are the first thing that comes to mind.Check and make sure your brakes arent binding or warped. Also check your motor and tranny mounts.

I belive that the later model 5.0s actually had forged pistons but im not 100% sure.If they are forged they will hold up to about anything.Your 84 T-bird motor im almost positive has cast pistons.

Both have their ups and downs.

Is it almost like a slight hesitation? What comes to mind is that wth that much mileage, there could be a significant amount of slack in the timing chain causing the cam and distributor to do wierd things. I had an '87 Ranger 2.0 1BBL carb, and did what you described. Bump, and jerk, then clear up until under a good load(gutless anyway), then the distirbutor went out.
