95' 5.8 in a 83 GT
Hello, new guy here, I posted this in the general tech forum, but maybe it should have been here. Anyway, I have a newly aquired 1983 GT 5.0 HO. It is tired and the body poor, but I've decided to fix it up. I have a 95' 5.8 from a F150. My question, is the 95' 5.8 a decent platform to build from. I want to get different heads(Aluminum), RPM air gap dual plane, headers. I have a Holly 750 vac secondary carb, I want 91 octane safe compression.
Am I on the right track or should I start with something else.
Thanks, J.

It's not bad, it'll hold up better with more power than a 302 block will....if it's got a roller cam in it, it'll be good to use....or at least it should be a roller ready 5.8.......upon disassembly you can verify such

The 5.8 was fi, will the older carb manifolds bolt fine? And then I would need a older style distributor, fab the fuel system and it should be good.
I might be missing something, but are there posts or sticky's about the 5.0 to 5.8 swaps ?
