Default Door Locks

Hey guys. Im having a problem with my door locks suddenly.

When I push the button they will lock but when I press to unlock nothing happenes.
The guy at the auto store told me the lighter and locks are on the same fuse but I looked in the chiltons manual and it seems they are not. My lighter has also stopped working though.

Any ideas?

lol at parts store know nothing..........easy to poke a hole in his rationale....even if they were on the same circuit.........it would not allow locks to work at all, since they lock.....= could not be a fuse on that circuit if both ran off it...both circuits would not work at all.

The fact something happens when you push the button rules out the fuse. Your automatic lock actuator or the switch itself is most likely shot and needs replacing. Should be a fairly cheap fix. Just don't destroy your door panel if you take it off. Harbor freight sells an interior trim removal kit for 7 bucks.

If it's doing the same thing on the passenger side as the driver side. Its the switch. If it's only doing it on one side. It's the actuator.

Is it only 1 switch then that controls both locks or do I need 2 switches, one for each side?

If 2 is it common for them both to go bad at the same time?

Sorry to bump this old thread but I have not yet fixed the issue and I am sure if I need 2 parts or just 1 part.
On each door the lock works but the unlock does not work.
Also the lock/unlock on driver side no longer also controls the passenger side.
Can someone tell me if it is switch or actuator and if I need 1 for each side or just 1 part total....

Also now I have a new issue. The thermostat **** has always been hard to turn. Well now it just turns freely and I can not control the thermostat. Can someone tell me what I need to fix this?

Thanks guys!
